Water is pretty often used in graphic design. This tutorial will show you how to create a water surface to add to your creations.
1. Create a new file and press D to set the colors to black and white. Go to Filter -> Render and select Clouds.

2. Now go to Filter -> Distort -> Glass and set the distortion to 20(maximum), the smoothness to 8 and the scaling to 50% (you can change these values so that you achieve the desired effect).

3. To make it look like water, go to Image -> Adjustments -> Color Balance and play a bit with the values till you’re happy with the result.

4. To finish, you need to add some perspective to the water. Select the image with the Marquee Tool, then go to Edit -> Transform -> Perspective. Drag one of the bottom corners to give it a nice look and it’s done.

not very realistic at all
Pretty Cool! Easy, yet complex!
The last step isn’t working for me.
Very nice… Just what I was looking for… Not perfectly realistic but it’s good enough for me
Oh, and Kelly… Try pulling in the lower right corner, drag down and to the right, towards your computer screen’s lower right corner… worked for me.
It looks like a puddle in the rain.
cool, thanks.
Thanks… quick, and easy to remember. (Down and dirty, as we say…)
