step 1
Open image and create new layer. In the new layer draw lines by makin small tiles. You can just do half the image then copy paste and then flip vertical to cover the rest of the image.
Make layer 1 invisible. Now go to background layer and make duplicate layer and desaturate it. Now apply a Guasian Blur of 1 pixel. Save this as "shadow.psd"

step 2
Remove visibility of the grey layer.Add new layer.
Make layer 1 visible again and change layer to overlay.

step 3
Apply the Displacement filter to your design layer at 5% Horizontal and 5% Vertical. Select "Shadow.psd" as your displacement map. This will distort the design to the contours of the background
Raise the Brightness by 100% and lower the Contrast by 100%. The design should all but disappear into the background.

step 4
Go to blending option and choose bevel emboss, an Outer Bevel with these settings:
smooth, Depth 100%, Down, Highlight Mode: Overlay (75%), Shadow Mode: Overlay (75%). Then add an Inner Shadow with "Blend Mode" set to "Multiply."
The other settings, such as Opacity and Distance are variable depending on your picture.

step 5
Inner shadow blend modes as seen here:

bit more detailed in description for example:
"Open image and create new layer. In the new layer draw lines by makin small tiles."
it would help to say what colors is best to use for the lines and te thickness of the brush that you
used in your example
"Make layer 1 invisible."
it would help to xplain how to make the layer invisble
" Now go to background layer and make duplicate layer and desaturate it. "
new photoshop users wont know where desaturate is maybe so it might be a good idea to explain in
short where to find it or write the shortkeys here.
"Now apply a Guasian Blur of 1 pixel. "
again like in the comment before it would help the newer users if they know where to find
"gaussian blur"
